The Department of Geology conducts research within a broad spectrum of geological, geochemical, hydrogeological, and environmental research areas. We cover the topics of the Earth's geodynamic development and the evolution of life from the Palaeozoic to present times, the formation processes of igneous and metamorphic rocks and their minerals, human impacts on geochemical processes in natural environments, hydrogeology, geoarchaeology, and environmental changes of the Quaternary.
We cooperate with the Institute of Physics of the Earth MU and the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Science, MU.
