The laboratory of sedimentology is focussed on undertaking fundamental sedimentological analyses, being equipped accordingly.
X-Ray granulometry allows us to determine particle size within the 0,04 - 500 µm range.

Working principle:
Particle size analyses allowed by X-ray diffraction based on the Fraunhofer approximation and the MIE theory. Kapalinový režim provozu (destilovaná voda).
Measuring methodology:
Fine particles are measured through dispersion imaging dependent on the sample of interest. Larger particles are measured by fast Fourier transformation (FFT), undertaken in real time thanks to the digital signal processor (DSP).
