Sulphide mineralization fieldtrip
Like the budding flowers of April, sulphide mineralization blooms with hidden treasures waiting to be discovered beneath the earth's surface.
This april (8th-10th) two of our SEG committee members attented field trip in one of the oldest mining districts in Harz Mountains (Germany) thanks to the invitation of SEG Student Chapter TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The trip was focused on polymetallic sulfide deposits, vein mineralizations (Ag, Pb, Cu, Zn) and iron mineralizations. During those 3 days, we visited mines of Rammelsberg, Lautenthal, St. Andreasberg and Büchenberg. On the last day, we visited the remote collection of ore minerals.
We would like to thank members and friends from SEG Freiberg for their hospitality, for showing us the beauty of Freiberg city and for an amazing field trip.
